“Pediatric Dentistry is my home. I enjoy being around children and the reward that it brings to me. It humbles me to get the high five or a hug at the end of an appointment. Knowing you have made a positive outlook on dentistry makes my job so rewarding.”
Dr. Lauren Chao
Dr. Lauren Chao loves being a pediatric dentist! From an early age, she knew she wanted a career working with children. Over time her desire to help others led her to a career in pediatric dentistry. Now she dedicates her professional life to helping children, adolescents, and those with special healthcare needs achieve optimal oral health. She believes in creating lifelong relationships with dental patients, and she partners with patients and their families to set patients up for a lifetime of success.
Dr. Chao grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. She moved to the Midwest to pursue her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University outside of Chicago, Illinois. After college, she returned to Las Vegas to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine for her dental training. She then worked as a general dentist for several years in Spokane, Washington. During her time as a general dentist, Dr. Chao saw many children as well as adults who had dental fear due to negative dental experiences as a child. These experiences led her to pursue her dream of becoming a pediatric dentist, and she completed a pediatric dentistry residency program at Oregon Health & Science University. Her and her family are very excited to establish roots in Oregon and love all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Outside of working at the office, Dr. Chao loves exploring new restaurants and experiencing different cuisines. She is always open to new food recommendations! She loves spending time with friends and family. She can frequently be found alongside her two dogs, Max and Cooper, playing at their neighborhood dog park.
